The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reportedly approved plans to recruit 25,000 new teachers. By the time this recruitment process ends, the government intends to introduce a smart school system across all the schools and colleges across the province.

KP’s Minister for Education, Shahram Tarakai, presided over a press meeting on Thursday and announced the government’s plan to provide robust furniture to schools prior to the upcoming resumption of regular classes.

The local government has undertaken recurring construction projects to set up facilitation centers for students in multiple districts across KP.

Minister Tarakai also announced that cameras would be installed inside examination centers to promote ‘decency’ among students.

Regarding the prior instances of recruitment drives for KP, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) had banned KP’s universities from hiring more teachers in 2019 due to recurring financial crises. Notices had been issued to the VCs of all the schools and colleges whereby the HEC explained the reason for the ban.

The situation has improved in 2021, and the provincial government will induct 25,000 teachers into the province’s academic portfolio to enhance curriculum coverage and reduce unemployment.
